WELKS Championship show, judge Rosemary Talbot : Bunny wins Graduate bitch !!!!
Many thanks to her breeder Viv Bowen for showing her, as I was unable to attend.
April 2010
We had a busy Easter weekend, on the sunday we attended the Society Championship show in Malvern, judging the bitches was Ann Kilminster (Withybed) and judging the dogs was Louise Jones (Braemist). Bunny was entered in a verg strong class of 28 bitches in Post Graduate, and she came 6th, we were thrilled, as this was her very first post graduate class! In the boys Madison was entered in Mid Limit dog and came 2nd behind the current Crufts Best of Breed winner! We had a lovely day, and even managed to win a large bottle of Southern Comfort and wine on the raffle!
On the Easter monday we attended a local open show (well it was only one hour away!), we went to the Hampshire Gundog show under judge Jacquie Thomas (Twg-wyn). Bunny won her graduate class, and went Reserve Best of Breed!, Madison was third in Open dog, so another fantastic day was had by all!
14th March 2010
Well what a day we had at Crufts !! We managed to fall out of bed at 4am and leave the house at 5am, to make our journey north to the NEC in Birmingham. Representing 'Team Harlistream' were both Madison and Jive Bunny, handled by myself in an incredibly fetching chic sailor inspired outfit! First into the ring was Bunny (Clandrift Dirty Dancing at Harlistream), she was entered in Undergraduate Bitch under judge Fiona Coward Scholes, there were 16 bitches entered. Bunny moved incredibly well, and to our delight she won her class, to screams and whoops of delight from the direction of my mother, and her breeder Viv Bowen! Then after a long wait Madison (Withybed New Yorker at Harlistream) entered the dog ring in Mid Limit Dog under the judge Jenny Morgan (Hillwolf), this was a large class of 24, he was a little star, but today was not his day, and he came away cardless. There was no rest for the wicked, and immediately after showing Madison, I had to run into the bitch ring to show Bunny in the bitch challenge. It was such a thrill to be in the challenge, and I enjoyed every moment of it, we were unplaced, however it was an experience I will never forget. We had a fantastic day, and so did many of our friends, many congrats to Terri & Pagan, Gemma & Woody and Mandy & Scout, who all won classes at Crufts, and to Kelly Holland, who's dog Denver (Calzeat Causa Commotion at Flatcharm) sired the bitch RCC winner Kulawand In No One's Shadow. I must also say a thank you to my mother for her grooming and organisational skills, and to Lawrence for his fab camera skills! Oh and also to Team Pinebank for the nibbles and cake in celebration of Karen's birthday. We look forward to next year !

June 2009
This month we had to say goodbye to our beautiful boy Harley (Bumblyn Noah Claypole). He was only 9 years old, and has left a huge gap in the household. We miss him terribly, see him web page to view our tribute to such a special boy.
May 2009
This has been a busy month in the household, what with house decorating, doggie lodgers and my own University exams, everything has been a bit hectic! I apologise for the lack of show results, but the site is now up to date. Thank you everyone that has sent me results, I do try and get the results on line as quickly as possible, but sometimes time is not on my side! You may notice a new link on the home page for the Southern Flatcoated Retriever Club (Proposed), this page will list events that will be run by the club, you are also able to download a membership form, if you wish to join, it is well worth it, so give it a go!
April 2009
At the Flatcoated Retriever Society Championship Show on the 4th April, Madison won Mid Limit Dog under Val Jones (Braemist), this is only the second time he has been in this class, since qualifying out of Post Graduate. The first time he was entered in Mid Limit was at Crufts, where he came 4th under Roger Millbank (Larksdown).

We asked Ann Kilminster (Withybed) to do a painting of Madison as she is known for her beautiful animal and in particular Flatcoat paintings, and she did this amazing canvas of him.

Madison has had a wonderful couple of shows so far, just before Christmas he won Open and Best of Breed at Guildford under Lyn Strudwick, a few weeks later he again won Open and Best of Breed, this time at Buckinghamshire under Andy Osbourne-Brown. At the same show Jive also won Junior ! This happened in the same weekend that I found out that I had passed my first lot of exams for my degree that I am undertaking at University ... so a fabulous weekend was had !
September 2008
As of the 20th September I will be attending University in London, as of such it may take me a little longer to update the open show results of this website, I will continue to endeavour to get the results online as quickly as possible. But please bear with me, as I will continue to try and do my very best !

We had to make the very hard decision to have our beautiful Ember (Gemswin Eternal Flame at Harlistream) put to sleep to end any further suffering. She was only 6 years old, we miss her terribly, she has left a huge void in the house. We are very proud of her children, and thank Gemma and Sue Knight for letting us have such a sweet beautiful girl.

November 2007
Madison has had a busy few weeks ! First he went to the United Retriever Club Open Show under Maureen Millbank (Larksdown), there he won Post Graduate Dog and Reserve Best Dog. Then we went to Hampshire Gundog Society Open Show under Pam Lynott (Avening) where he won Post Graduate and then went Best of Breed ! With Christmas fast approaching, the shows are slowing down, we only have two more for the rest of year, which is just as well seeing as how cold it is getting early in the morning ! So if anybody is going to shows that we aren't, I would love the results to add to this site. If you don't want to type all the results (which can take forever..... I know !!) then you can always just scan in the pages from the catalogue and email them to me (just make sure that you add in judge, date and name of show, and also the owners of the dogs, if they are not printed next to the name). I would like to thank everyone for sending me results, I do really appreciate it, as I can't get to all the shows, especially if they are in the midlands and further north ! So Thank you everybody ..... you know who you are !!

At Crufts 2007 Gambit was placed 2nd in Undergraduate Dog, we are all really proud of him, he was kindly handled by his “Aunty” Karen Taylor (Pinebank). His father Madison made the cut in a large Post Graduate Dog class but went unplaced in the end - although he showed his socks off and we were really pleased with him as well. Both our boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and can’t believe it is over for another year.
